Failed payments & dunning
Credit cards expire. Banks decline transactions. Stripe's Smart Retries will attempt the charge again over several days. During this dunning period, Stripdo waits. No invoice is sent for a failed charge. Only when the retry succeeds and Stripe records a successful payment does Stripdo generate and email the invoice. If all retries fail and the subscription is canceled, no invoice is ever created for that period.
Free trial to paid conversion
During a free trial, no payment occurs — so no invoice is generated. When the trial ends and Stripe charges the first real payment, Stripdo creates the invoice. Usage-based & metered billing
If you use Stripe's metered billing, usage is reported during the billing period and the final amount is calculated at the end.
